Our dual bearing gear reduction drives are the best available in the industry today. Designed to fit General, Interpump, A-R, Udor, and Comet pumps. Gear drives have a ratio of 2.1-1 meaning a 3600 rpm engine will turn a pump at 1714 rpm (3600/2.1=1714) so to achieve the proper rpm for a pump you may need to adjust the rpm of the engine. For example to have a pump turn at 1450 rpm you need to set the engine for 3045 rpm. When setting your engines rpm do so with it under load to achieve the correct rpm for operation. Formula: Desired Pump RPM x 2.1= Required Engine RPM We also have one and two groove pulleys available with or without bushings. To determine the proper pulley size you need to know the following: Engine RPM, Required Pump RPM, Pump Pulley Size or Engine Pulley Size. (assuming the engine is turning the standard 3600 RPM). To determine your pulley size take the following example. I know my engine is turning at 3600 RPM and it has a 3.40 pulley and the pump need to turn at 1450 RPM. So my calculations are: 3600/1450= 2.483 rpm ratio 2.483 x 3.40 = 8.44 pump pulley. Formula: Engine RPM / Pump RPM = RPM Ratio RPM Ratio x Motor Pulley Diameter = Pump Pulley Diameter (Note: Pulley Diameter measurements are taken at the center of the groove)
